Ruger American Bolt Action work

Nothing to do with all of this snow, so I worked on my Sons Ruger American
I slicked up the Bolt by lightly polishing it with a sanding sponge, and jeweled the bolt

but what made the difference is polishing the area where the bolt stop drags

it feels like a Tikka now
I also cut down the forend simular to a TC Demension, and filled the buttstock and the for-end with glass bedding

I looked at one of these in the local gun shop. That area you point out where the bolt stop drags was particularly rough and poorly machined. Lots of variation to the surface of the steel within that groove. Looked like a cobble stone road.

Thanks for the tips.

I hear these rifles shoot very accurately for a factory rifle, and that Ruger has figured out how to hammer forge quality barrels. How does yours shoot?
