I reload and shoot a 7mm08. Ballistic twin to the 7x57 for comparisons sake. 3000fps is the ceiling for the 130gr bullets. If you go to Ron's YouTube and watch him sighting this rifle in, he is saying 3200 fps. That is why I said it's kinda hot for a 7x57. Could it possibly be a 280 / 280AI?

Definitely a 7x57. I watched him review and shoot the rifle on his RSO channel. Maybe falling block takes more pressure than a bolt rifle.

Falling blocks are old technology and are known for mediocre accuracy. Maybe Ron having done far more than most when it comes to hunting is looking for a new challenge or more likely he's an old soul.

He just likes them because they look cool and he enjoys the idea behind a single shot and how it affects him psychologically (being much more careful with your shot because you don't get a backup)

He did eventually get it down to sub MOA

The head looks like a whitetail but both rear tines are forked like a mulie. I think they get some inter-breeding in western Nebraska and the Dakotas
