Even the powders that are made here are expensive. Hodgdon has monopolized the powder industry in north america. Its corporate greed. In addition, when i started reloading in 1974, i only knew one other guy who reloaded. Now, most everyone i know reloads. You pay it or not. Other than my match reloading, i do very little shooting any more. I also dont use hodgdon powders anymore. A shame when it can be imported cheaper, including tariffs, than it can be made here.This is what happens to prices when we become a nation of consumers and not manufacturers:
