Rem Model 7 in .260 Rem. What's it worth?

Hi,

My daughter has a Remington Model 7 in .260 Remington that we are thinking about selling. She's headed to med school & needs the money now more than she needs the rifle. It is blued steel with a synthetic stock. It has a Nikon Monarch 2.5-10 x 44 duplex scope and will come with about 7 boxes of factory ammunition. I think I still have a wood stock for it in my attic.

It's a great cary rifle with minimal recoil. She never missed with it or needed more than one shell for a hunt.

What should she be asking for it?

Jpterry is right on. Definitely no lower than $750. If the wood stock is full size I would think you would have no trouble getting $900 with the ammo.

Well there is a Stainless one for sale local and they are asking $895.00 with a cheap scope .
They are truly a great round ! Easy on your shoulder and put a hurtin on a Whitetail !

$800 is way to much, let's get real you can buy a brand new Winchester MOD 70 lightweight compact for $800. Depending on where or how you try to sell it I would not envision more than $750 and that to a buyer who just had to have exactly that rifle and caliber. Remington kinda not making many right now. Realistically $500-$650, good luck.

I have to agree with 73drive on price maybe even lower.

Rifle $5-550-with extra wood stock----ammo another $150--Scope $150---so yeah, about 8 bills.
Now try to get it. $650-700 with a lifetime of hunting ammo for this rifle.

Ammo is OK for deer, but would not suffice for elk here. Also for me would have to be stainless. So different requirements/needs for different hunters means different values.

Selling for med school? That amount will be a kick in the bucket in how much she is going to spend to pay for med school which will be about $500,000. I'd keep it because the amount you'll get won't make a difference for med school.
