I swapped a timney trigger for a x mark pro in a bolt .22 lr. The safety on the x mark will not slide to the safe position when the bolt is down. Does anyone have any suggestions at to why this is happening?

Start with the adjustment screw. That's the easiest fix and the most common reason for safety failure. If that doesn't work, pull the trigger and check for fit issues.

If you can't get it working, you might need to go back to the Timney or find a trigger specifically designed for your .22 action. The X-Mark Pro might just not be compatible with that bolt.

OK. Thanks for the response. I was unaware that that not all bolts are compatible. I thought that any "700" trigger could be swapped with any other "700" trigger. I have a nicer rifle being put together so I thought I would steal the Timney from the .22 and put the X mark in as I do not need a great trigger in the .22. I had the X mark in the closet so I figured I would try.
