Alliant now has some initial load data on their website, if you're interested. It appears to make the 7-08 a 270win, and the 270win a 270WSM....hopefully that pans out in testing.

So this is Varget speed powder? RL-15 range?

Looking at Alliants data I would say nearly grain for grain equal to IMR4350 or just a about a grain faster than H4350.

Guessing here that with Hodgdon staying so behind on H4350 last year(s) that the IMR4451 and Reloder 16 can fill the same use spot with the same temperature stability. Just a guess.

So what is the Varget speed version of the new Alliant powders?

Sorry for hijacking the thread ....

I'd say, AR-comp or RL-15.

Also, regarding the RL-16 data, can anyone tell me what the right most column of their data is called "notes"? It'll say: 0.220" C or some will have "air" in the place of the "C".

Inches of compression vs. inches of air between powder and bullet maybe?

there is a post on Accurate Shooter in the all caliber reloading forum 3rd page as of now , where the poster was sent some to test also a temp sensitivity comparison with h 4350

I finally found some at Powder Valley online. Now I just need to find there times to play with it once it gets here.
