I"d like some ideas for optics for a 7400 30-06 in bush and running game

The most common set up I see here on 760s/7600s is a 3-9 on Weaver see through rings. A red dot would be another option.

I have a BAR 270 and Rem 742 both mounted with 1-4X scopes. No see thru mounts as those seem to lose zero easily when bumped

No see through mounts as scoped have improved greatly in the past 30 years.

Personally, I'd go for a scope with a low power of 1X. We hunt with dogs (long legged Walkers) in some thick stuff here in N.C. They push the deer hard and when that buck comes out he ain't goofing off and you'd better not be either. I can get on an animal running hell bent for leather with a 1X scope quicker than I can look below my scope, line up the back sight, front sight and animal.

Just put the crosshairs on him, squeeze. Help catch the dogs (if you can!) :)
