I'm in Commie Kalifornia which might explain it. They're saying the state is in a recession---and gas prices are about to go to $8-$10 per gallon due to closure of two refineries in consequence of the state's insane regulations and penalties.

$8-$10/gallon? I don't see how that is compatible with life as we know it. Commutes are a part of life in that crazy place.

Hired 2 people that start next week and Jul15. Always interested in pulp and paper process engineers. We hired several software developers in Q1.

The big recession is going to be in Washington DC and its suburbs in Virginia.

The Doge reductions, in head count and spending are going to hit hardest right there.

For the rest of the nation, if we get a 2 percent reduction in interest rates over the next year, oil stays in the $65 to $75/bbl range, we get the tax cut package in Congress, and we stay out of a huge war, then I don't see us in recession.

Yes, past inflation has put us in a bit of a spending slow down as things got so expensive, but with interest rate cuts, tax cuts, and low oil prices, I think we will muddle through, especially if more manufacturing and tech jobs get created in a growing economy. We have to create better opportunity in the jobs
market too. Just not waste and government bloat jobs.

I worked for the third largest corporation in the USA, during the Clinton years.
At first our customers, including our well established clientele believed the administration's word on "How great the economy was. Buy on credit"!
Then it became too obvious the economy, ours and the world economy were drifting lower, and lower, and starting to fall, with speed.
We had less sales, less upgrades, less machine modifications, more service calls. We had a much lower Christmas bonus, for most of us. Nobody lost their jobs, we rarely had overtime to begin with, so the loss of it meant nothing.
When the economy began to head upwards with the Bush Administration, we became very busy, again.

At this time, the corporation is doing fine. Waiting for USA, and the American clients to have faith in the Americas', economy. That is the economy of South, Central, and North Americas.

During the last four years, Guvna Newsom immediately raised gasoline tax by $0.40/gallon, rumors he is going to raise it again by $0.64/gallon.
Milk $5+/gallon. If the EV is not forced on us, he will make gasoline for our paid for cars too expensive to drive them.

We changed our shopping locations, and reduced our emergency purchasing budget. Our pantries and deep freezers still stock. Our rotation has slowed down.

I purchased one firearm, a pistol, on most everybody's word on how great it is. Shucks, I know better than that. Gonna give it away to a relative. He wants it, it is useless to me. 500 rounds, and if the barn is further than 10 feet away, it is safe.

Most of my friends and neighbors are getting back into the market for firearms.
We all can visit relatives, friends out of state, and have some disposable income.
We also avoid holes like L.A. where criminals run free, and the law-abiding are punished.

Not even a year, and this disabled, retired man is beginning to enjoy being retired, again.

They (all) are the problem. I wouldn't look to them for a solution anytime soon.

Congress should abide by the laws they force us to abide by. Which includes "Insider trading". Their relatives and friends should not be exempt from hints or knowledge passed to them by Congressional workers, or Congress people.
They should not make $million over their salaries each year. Old time, Pelosi, new time A. Cortez. And many more, making their millions from our backs.
That is as close to being a liberal, or a Marxist as I will get!

DJT keeps pushing Fed Powell for rate decrease - this would increase business activity. My thinking is no recession now but some doubt and hesitation about future. DTJ tariffs have business problems for some. Walmart prices seem to be slightly higher with mountains of Chinese stuff but shopping carts, checkout lines, and parking lots are full. About 85% of the stuff we own that plugs into electrical outlets comes from China.

Prices go higher and stuff is harder to find. I have been trying to find a pound of powder and some primers for several years, and it's just not there. Too many people buying up everything they can get. If people would slow down and let a few others buy a bit, it would be fine, but when people are buying hundreds of lbs of powder and thousands of primers and bullets, it just doesn't make it to the shelves. I am to the point now where I am willing to just look at my rifles and say "it was fun while it lasted".

I have some 22lr, so I can still hunt, but most of what is available is junk bulk ammo.

I feel bad about not being able so shoot my 22-250, especially when it has only seen a few boxes of ammo, but when ammo is pushing $40-50 a box, and no reloading supplies, what else do you do? I am not going to cater to the high prices, and I have a crossbow and slingshot.

Order online. Natchez and others just had a sale on primers and powder. Or is this not a option for you ? I paid twice as much as these in the past. Now is a good time to stock up IMO.

Howdy, what are you looking for, I may have some of what you need.
I don't have a 22/250 so I don't have brass. Brass has been available and powder and primers. With Free hazmat. Hope this helps.
