Reccomendation for 300 WSM Factory Elk load

Looking for a Good Elk Factory Cartridge for 300 WSM for Browning X bolt Hells Canyon. I am considering Barnes Vortex 165 TTSX. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have been shooting 168 bergers the past 7 years some hand load some hsm which have performed great. Killed 8 bulls, 5 deers, one big horn, and 3 bears. They have done well out to 600 the furthest on elk.

25, a friend has had a 300WSM for 5 years. He found the HSM 185 Bergers and has been knocking down elk with it ever since. We now hand load this bullet and shrunk his groups a bit. Good luck

I will be re chambering a short action rifle to 300wsm. HSM 185 Bergers what I'm looking at trying.

Three out of three 300WSM I've tried the following load in have shot well under MOA.

168 TTSX
66.5 RE17
CCI 250

165 grain partition or x-bullet will handle that.

Factory Barnes TTSX ammo is a good option. Max range on elk is about 700 yards. I've killed a bull at 570 with a hand load of 168 TTSX and 63gr of Reloder 17.
Excellent performance high shoulder shot.
A friend killed a 360 bull in AZ unit 23 with the same rifle and load at 720yds.
Very little expansion, 2 shots to drop him.

I hand load 180gn TTSX over 64.5 ish of h4350, velocity is 2980ish. Have killed 5 bulls in 5 five years, each were one shot kills. Ranges were from 70 out to 268 yds. Gun is a Kimber Montana.

For factory ammo - The numbers on the new hornady 200 gr eldx look pretty impressive. 1700ftlb@500 yds with about 34" of drop.
