Hey all,

I am contemplating getting into reloading and I was looking at the RCBS Special-5 press. I was wondering, does anyone have experience with this press? pros, cons? any input is appreciated.

Thanks
Erik

IF you are loading for handguns or small rifle cartridges it's fine. If you load for or ever expect to load for larger rifles get Lee's Classic Cast single stage. It's (relitively) inexpensive, big, very strong and has the best user features in that class of presses no matter the price.

Well, the .308 is in the medium class of cartridges, the RS-5 will do well with it. But the Classic Cast is a much better press and it won't toss spent primers all around your loading room.
