Question on part that came with Leica binos

Ok, at the risk of being a stupid question, I'm going to ask anyway. I recently picked up my first pair of Leica binos. What is the small plastic piece that came with them used for ?

I assume (lol, yea I know) its to use in opening the battery compartment on geovids to not scratch the metal finish, like a screwdriver flathead????

That's what I did with it too. Just didn't know if it had another function
