Proof Sendero or Sendero Light

I am gathering the parts for a new build. It will be used as on my back pack hunts for blacktail deer (120-150 pounds). I have a lightweight 700 clone on order from Defiance and will use and Edge tech Micky handle. It will be a 28 Nosler shooting copper mono's as I live in CA.

I going to try my first Proof barrel and I am thinking a 26" 8 twist Sendero light and I will have a muzzle brake on it. It will save me 4 ounces which I can use if needed on my optic.

I don't anticipate any long shot strings just your typical hunting scenarios 1 shot and possible follow up

Anyone using the Sendero light contour have any negative experiences.

I guess there not as popular as the full size contour?

if it were me, I would go with the Sendero on a 28. I would consider a Lite on .264 but not on any thing .284

Sendero. It's only ~3oz heavier. On a short barrel and smaller caliber, I might consider the sendero lite.

I run a 26" Proof Sendero Light on my .280AI. Shoots just fine. 175 Berger Elite @ 2976fps or 160 TMK @ 2994fps.

I run a 26" Proof Sendero Light on my 6.5SS. Shoots just fine. 156 Berger Elite @ 3078fps or 131 HH @ 3205fps

I run a 22" Proof Sendero Light on.my 6.5SLR. Shoots just fine. 130 OTM @ 2900 and 124 HH @ 2934

Thats one of the nices rifles Ive seen. My packer 33NM,dont know contourbut its only .765 at the brake. Its shoots,my other is larger

I have a proof Sendero on my 28 and it shoots lights out. It may be worth a call to Proof to ask them about that chambering in the lite contour they have advised me before against going with the lite contour in 30 caliber for magnum cartridges.

I called proof and asked for my 7mm blaser build. They said no significant performance difference. 3-4oz lighter. I have 24" sendero light. Shoots great. My 6mm cm has 24" sendero
