I would like to know why these blanks are so expensive.
And my response to you in #80 is direct, but sincere. Get the facts direct from the source. Sadly, BS/smart arse comments and unwarranted claims/speculations are coming. My intentions were not meant as negative input rather just factual for myself, my apologies if taken that way.
No worries, I can be somewhat direct myself. And my response to you in #80 is direct, but sincere. Get the facts direct from the source. Sadly, BS/smart arse comments and unwarranted claims/speculations are coming.
I'll say that same for same, proof is always a bit higher priced than the competition. But they do also advertise a fair bit more it seems, and advertising IS a real cost that ends up in the product itself. They also have military contrMy intentions were not meant as negative input rather just factual for myself, my apologies if taken that way.
The 195 Berger might as well have been designed for the 28 nosler, match made in heaven. I don't have my Nos' anymore but that was my favorite combo for itThe barrel is taking its sweet time getting delivered. I do like the traction and interest in this ne technology. Alex has been a long time smith/friend. So please don't go expecting a quick turn around on a chamber job. I got the brass, next week I will start shooting. The barrel is going into Alex's old rifle some of you have seen. Defiance tactical single shot with a Manners PRS-2. Everyone has tried the N570-195 Berger combo if they owned a 28 Nosler.
That is for the CF. The steel ones are coming out soon and will be less. Not too bad - less than I expected.
In the Hornady video the guy from Proof said their experiments proved it was bullets skidding along the rifling in an effort to initiate spin that was the source of throat wear. He didn't say so but my thot would be the PXT rifling simply reduced the throat time.Super interesting.
I still don't see how you won't burn out the throat, but willing to wait and see.
Yeah it'll be super interesting to see actual results. You need to build pressure in order to get speed. Pressure only comes from the resistance of a barrel. I don't see how it will help but wyoming to wait and see.In the Hornady video the guy from Proof said their experiments proved it was bullets skidding along the rifling in an effort to initiate spin that was the source of throat wear. Pressure comes from the seal between barrel and bullet creating the resistance. This is a function of the dimensions of the bullet and the dimensions of bore and obturation. I don't see how less aggressive lands or throat would affect this negatively, but we'll see.Yeah it'll be super interesting to see actual results. You need to build pressure in order to get speed. Not negatively.... just any different to justify the price difference.Pressure comes from the seal between barrel and bullet creating the resistance.
