pressure question

According to Hodgdon, the 300RUM operates at 10,000CUP higher than the 30-378. Does higher pressure erode a throat quicker?

I think I'll walk out on a limb here and say that throat erosion is more a factor of temperature than anything else. Somewhere in the dim recesses of my memory I recall that it takes about 4000* F to start really eroding a barrel throat and that starts to occur as velocities exceed 3000 fps. It is I believe a function of the amount of powder burned vs. the bore diameter.
