Powder forv338 edge.

With H1000, retumbo, hard to find. What powder or powders would be good choice to get started. Rl33, rl26, 8133, vvn570, I can get rl26 possibly 33 as well. Any suggestions would be helpful. Will be building rifle this winter. So want to find good starting powder. Thanks for replys

I have 2 338 edges they both like N570 and retumbo with 300 Berger's

IMR 7977 is IMR's equivalent to H1000 and IMR 8133 is their equivalent to Retumbo. I would drop down 2gr from you current load and work up, but they are very close to their Hodgdon cousins. The Reloder powders would work well too. They will probably give a little more speed than the IMR powders as well.

Thanks guys. It is will be my first edge. Unfortunately no h1000 or retumbo I will see if I can find those other powders here locally. Going to be a fun project while it is cold and ugly outside.
