Parallax settings

I bought a new Marlin 1894 Trapper in 44 Mag . I have been looking for a low variable power scope with a 1" tube . I found that Hawk has a 1-4 X 20 with a lit reticle . It is parallax set for 50 yards . I imagine my max range will be 100 yards . Will this cause any problem if I would get a 100 yard shot? Are Leupolds as bad as folks make them out to be? This is a set and forget scope I am wanting. Thanks ahead for your input.

With the Hawk and a fix parallax for your application you should be fine.

As far as Leopold, I have had probably 25 to 30 of them, of all shapes and sizes and have NEVER had any problems. My experience.

Leupold is low grade dog food, no experience with Hawk.

Have a Hawke on a spring piston air rifle that has previously destroyed a few scopes. Been spot on for a few years now. Never had any issues with leupold either. I also wouldn't worry about parallax for those distances.

The only issue you may run into is point of impact changing from bench to prone to tree stand at 100 yards. Shoot a group from each position to find out how much difference
