I have been looking at getting a solo tent for backpack hunting. Does anyone have any experience with this brand or this tent?

+1 for the terra nova solar competition. Just spent the past few days in mine for the first time. Great lightweight set up for back packing into remote areas and appears to be very stable.
2 things to be aware of with this model. You will need some extra guy ropes as there isnt enough supplied on the tent. The tent pegs are very lightweight, needle sized and very small. Some people may favour them, but I replaced them with something more solid. I suspect they would be very easy to loose because of their small size and I just cant imagine using them in bad weather conditions as I suspect they would lack strength...
I had the same thought after seeing those stakes. So, overall, you liked the tent? And how about the room inside? It lists as 87 inches I think so it appears that a 6 foot person would have adequate room and the other thing I was wondering is how the vestibule worked out for you.
Thanks!
Randy
Overall, yes I definitley liked the tent. Im a bit shorter than you but still had spare leg room. I would be picking that it would be long enough for you. Did find the vestibule to be a bit on the small side. Just put as much gear as I could (mostly food)inside my pack and stashed pack in vestibule.
Seams arent sealed at factory so this will be something I will look at doing shortly. Will be picking up the footprint for it as well so can you use it just with tent fly .I got my mine through Back Country gear, they had them on sale.
The other one person tent I looked at was a Hilleberg soulo, great reviews but a bit heavier weight wise + plus more expensive.
Have been using a locally(nz) made one person tent for the last 15yrs or so. Its a "macpac microlight". Have used this mainly with the tent fly and no inner. Just wanted something that was a bit more stable in higher winds...
