There is a short barrel formula that does and will work. Lighten up the bullet weight...example - just because you have a 300wsm doesn't mean you have to shoot a 200 grain bullet....go 180-190, shorten up the barrel and I like to go a little faster powder and let it eat.
My reason is 99% of my hunting it's now suppressed, I've got zero use for a 24-26" barrel.
