I just had a MB installed on my 300. The rifle currently have a PST 6-24x50 FFP on it now. I'm Picking up a NXS 5.5-22x50 tomorrow. Would you mount this optic on the rifle or would you keep the PST on it. The reason I ask is, I hear great things about Vortex's warranty and I've heard muzzle brakes are killer on scopes. This will be my first Nightforce and don't want to trash it right out of the gate.

I'd be very suprised if you could break a Nightforce with a braked 300 mag. Nightforce scopes are about the toughest out there, and if you did manage to break it they'll fix it.

Good luck on trashing it ever don't even worry about the gate

That's about the best option for a bombproof scope your going to find. You'll find better glass, less weight, maybe better reticle choices with some other scopes...but durability is there in spades. It's what they built their whole rep on. Warranty is awesome but you'll probably never need it. Unlike my pst that lost zero mid limited draw hunt!
