Night vision for the kids.

This is for my a .... nephew. Yeah, my nephew. Looking for inexpensive night vision to walk around the woods in the dark without running into trees. Looking for something hands free like goggles or monocular that can be used with headgear. I don't need military grade stuff. I am looking for functional that gives 50 feet of halfway decent vision. Does anyone know of any digital night vision that meets this criteria? Something like a wraith, only in a monocular that can be used with headgear.
