Just picked up the new .243 26in bull barrel just looking for some starting points on a good varmint load. Thanks

I'm shooting a 75 gr. Hornady V-max over 46.5 gr. of Vht. N160 in a Lapua case fired by a CCI primer. The load is running just over 3400 fps and has shot well out to 800 yards. I am shooting a 26" Brux barrel. I was shooting the same V-max out of a Hornady case using 46.0 gr. of IMR 4831 with a WLR primer. This combo was only running 3250 from a 22" barrel.

I shoot the 87gr Vmax and H414...amount escapes me as I don't shoot it much as it's a switch barrel with something I use more...but I was up near book max and getting just under 1in 5shot groups consistently out of a factory Savage sporter barrel.

Was thinkin on loading some ballistic tips for deer when I seldomly decide to carry it but was wanting something that won't blow a huge hole in the coyotes

If you want a little heavier bullet for deer, 43 grains of IMR4831 and 85 grain Sierra BTHP's are deadly in my son's 243.

Re: new rifle need load.sako 270 telecomate 24in

need bullet grain an load for sako 270 24 in telcomate thanks.

Mine liked 4350, IMR more so than H, and flat refused to shoot bullets lighter than the 87 gr Hornady V-max into anything resembling a group. The 90 gr Noslers and those V-maxs went into 3/4" though. I played with varget, 414, 4831, RL 19(ok), 4064, and a few other powders, but that #1 only liked 4350.

Mine is a 1:10, it always does best with 4064 powder. The new 87 grain berger did great
for me in the last 1000 yard shoot I was in.
