New opinions on burris XTR II™ Riflescope 5-25x50mm scope

I have that scope in the GB2 mil reticle. I have it on my STW. So far I have only shot it with the scope on it about 20 or so times. So far i have been impressed with the clarity. They turrets are turn nice and have a pretty decent click to them. The zero stop is nice. I have the scope mounted in burris XTR rings as well. Which are fantastic. The illuminated reticle is a nice feature. Once i get some warmer weather I'm going to do a tall target test to see how the turret tracks. But I think it will do okay. It is my first FFP scope and i think im going to love hunting with it. So far I'm thinking i would defiantly buy another. And there warranty is 100% top notch. I got this scope because of warranty issue with a burris black diamond. They replaced that scope with anything i wanted. I chose the same scope your talking about. They tossed in the rings and bases to fit the scope and my rifle free of charge. There will be more Burris's in my future. If there is anything specific you would like to know. Ill try and answer it the best i can.

I would like to know:
1) the best price you found and where did you purchase from?
2) If you shoot a 4 corner grid test how repeatable were the clicks??? back to the exact same point?????
3) How many vertical clicks do you have for travel?????
4) remind me on the features does this scope have a wind hold mark on the reticle for a 10 mph wind ??? or ar 20 mph wind???
5)What is the farthest you can dial in with your STW and this scope???

Thanks for sharing bud, I appreciate it.

I got mine right from burris due to a warranty claim I had on a black diamond scope I had

I have not preformed that test but I could when I get some time.

3) How many vertical clicks do you have for travel?????

I have 0 moa bases now, I believe I have 12.5 or 13 mils of elevation adjustment.

4) remind me on the features does this scope have a wind hold mark on the reticle for a 10 mph wind ??? or ar 20 mph wind???

Your load will very from mine but it is a mil dot retical. So take a look at a ballistic's table for your load and you will know how many mils of hold over you will need at a given distance you provide.

5)What is the farthest you can dial in with your STW and this scope???
I believe real close to 1500 yards with my load I shoot now. According to the Applied Ballistic's. Add a 20 or 30 moa base and can get out there and touch something.

Thanks for sharing bud, I appreciate it.

Your welcome

You can see the results of the grid test over at the snipershide, Killswitches scope tracking test in the optics forum. Its one of the first ones that they had done. It performed flawlessly. For a FFP scope at that price point it appears very tough to beat.

O, a friend and I were at the range when his in law showed up with this scope. We spent a lot of time with it and were very impressed. That 34mm tube really is bright and it's made in America! It was 5X25X50 with mikea's G2B reticle. The turrets look to be copies of some on Nightforce scopes. Great scope for half the elite scope price range. He purchased it from Optics Planet with free ship, but I don't recall the price. Good luck

For the last 6 months I have been singing the praises of this optic and will continue to do so. Taken quite a bit of heat for it on the Hide. With Mil/LEO discount from Burris it was $900. Definitely not worth spending another $1500 for the gen II Razor. Don't get me wrong, the Razor is a nice optic also but $1500 goes a long way towards other fun things. YMMV.
