What does everyone think and/or know about this new Leupold Mark 4 HD line.

They look AWESOME.

Anyone have possibly some inside info?

Opinions?

Just came across one of these and picked it up. Mounting it today, range day Sunday. Will do a tacking test and let you know overall thoughts if you are still looking into them. I haven't been able to find a bunch on them myself yet

Range day came early as the weather cooperated and the rings came in. Will say with the 52mm objective I ordered medium rings but ended up having to go to low rings on a zero moa rail on a tikka. Still have plenty of room for a bigger objective with the low rings. Anyways, scope knock on wood tracked perfectly. Only shot 50 rounds cause it's a hunting rig and I was shooting for load development as well so this took 3/4 of my day up between cool downs. Did 10/ 3 round groups at 100 for the load development, tracked 10 clicks up, 10 left fired one and back to zero fired one. Did the same for the down and right and up/ right etc. across all 10 groups. Scope returned to zero and tracked perfectly throughout the session. Will be moving scope to rem 700 5R to continue testing and move out to ranges beyond 100. So far so good, what I don't like, the stop for the windage adjustment. You can only rotate 48 right or 48 left and it stops you. My fault I didn't bring the Alan with me because I needed more right adjustment after zeroing and could not achieve that without the Alan, need to remove adjustment and set back to zero to get additional. After it's zeroed I don't foresee this being an issue anymore but it's still a what if situation I guess? Moving on the throw lever is stiff, not a bad thing but can't turn it while on target without really anchoring the rifle first. Smooth but stiff, maybe it'll loosen up with time. Parralax is the same, stiff. Illuminated reticle, love hate feature on this. Love the push button, hate you have to push it multiple times until it gets to max then flashes then goes down to minimum. Will say with daylight and minimum I could not see the illumination flash to let me know it was the final setting before the off position in the 4.5 power position. Even with it in the 18 power it's still hard to tell when going to off position. Eye relief was awesome, I've had issues in the past with Leupold and cruddy eye relief. This scope is opposite, loved it. So all in all glass is great, comparable to some NF I have, adjustments are crisp and audible- very little to no slop. Will give her a run for the money on the 5R and really work the hell out of it on the next outing. Fingers crossed it doesn't end up with the infamous tracking issue I've had in the past on a few models!! Disregard my messy bench it's on, haven't been home in a super long time due to work lol!!! Not even sure where I left off on some of the reloading, nothing like starting fresh I guess
