Below is a copy from our Blog about the newest Classic Hunter bullets from Berger! Our website has some introductory load data for these new bullets as well.

Our Berger Classic Hunter Series Bullets are designed for the most discriminating shooters and outdoorsman who insist their loaded rounds function flawlessly through any rifle magazine. Classic Hunters are tailored specifically for factory rifle applications where SAAMI length loaded rounds are a must. If your pre-hunt regiment is to assemble today's best reloading components to the maximum overall length (OAL) in your loading manual, Berger Classic Hunters are the new best-in-class. Load up the confidence you deserve while out in the elements, experiencing the hunt of a lifetime.

Berger Classic Hunters are offered in select weights that provide exceptional downrange performance in today's factory rifles. No custom barrels, special twist rates or reloading tricks are needed to achieve cutting-edge results. Classic Hunter ballistic coefficients (BC's) exceed other market clones due to the unique ogive properties provided by our innovative hybrid-shaped bullet nose. The hybrid design combines the best of both tangent and secant ogive features, resulting in the best ballistic performance with less sensitivity to bullet seating depth. Easy to load and shoot with Berger match-grade quality materials and award-winning results.

Berger Bullets ballistician Bryan Litz states "The Classic Hunter provides a unique solution that shares the hybrid design and ballistic properties of a match-quality target bullet, yet allows hunters magazine feed reliability. Now reloaders from entry-level through expert class have an obvious choice for their next hunt."

The Berger Bullets industry-leading development team has, yet again, brought forth an innovative product which compiles attributes never before seen within a hunting bullet: flawless functioning, unrivaled reliability, and award-winning performance. New Berger Classic Hunter Series are available in 6.5mm 135gr, 270 cal 140gr, and the 7mm 150gr bullets. These new bullet additions complement our current 6mm, 270, 7mm and 30 caliber Classic Hunter offerings:

I must say, the 168 gr. in my 30-06 are feeding and flying well. I wouldn't mind seeing something in the CH optimized for a 10 twist 6mm bullet (243 Win). Or maybe you could convince Tikka/Sako to make 9 twist 243's. Either would be fine.

They are for me too. So easy to work up a load for and they flat out shoot with almost no effort in finding seating depth, etc.

I saw the release yesterday. I saw them at a local store last week. I thought it was interesting they were in stores before they were on the Berger site.

So, Berger has just released elite hunting Bullets, and classic hunting Bullets?
I am starting to get confused from all the bullet choices:)

classic hunters are for saami spec chambers.

Elites are similar to the hybrid target bullets in design so they get great BC's while being easier to get to shoot well compared to their VLD bullets that are picky regarding seating depth.

Scot E,
Thanks for the link. After reading the discription, I would be interested in the Elites if my mag box is long enough.

Agreed, I haven't shot the VLD's for years. The hybrids are great for getting to shoot well and for putting critters down!

Scot nailed it. The Elites are not limited by SAAMI standards and are a thinner jacketed version of the Hybrid Target. These may or may not fit the magazine of your rifle. There may be some options to extend your magazine thru replacement parts or gunsmithing work to give you more room.

The Classic Hunters were designed specifically for mag length, SAAMI spec applications.
