New .240 Weatherby build

My cousin and uncle just finished up another build, a .240 Weatherby. After finishing up his older brother's .270 WSM, they moved on to the .240 for their next long range build. He bought some Lapua 105gr Scenars to try out and RL-22 with Norma brass. We started with a minimum load, the chamber is cut very precise and tight so we may not get close to max loads, but we will get the same velocity with less powder because of the tight chamber work. We will be sighting it in today and shooting it at distance, we are all looking forward to it! Specs below, pictures coming later!

Sounds like a great build. Should be an absolute long range killing machine. I just built a 6-06, which is essentially a 240 without a belt. I've had my best success with RL-25 and Norma MRP using Berger 105 Hybrids. My barrel is 26 in and I'm easily getting 3300 fps with the 105's.

I had a 6-284 on a Savage action with a 28 Douglas running 115 Bergers and it was really impressive. I got 3200 easy and those 115 would shoot thru a lot of meat and bone.

No offense jr, but 3450 from a 240 Wby/105 gr bullet is not going to happen...SAFELY!
