I have a custom 308 that i am looking to put a more powerful scope on. I currently have a Leupold 4.5-14x40mm LR/T on it. My ballistics are

0.00 inch @ 200 yds
-7.5 inch @ 300 yds
-21.6 inch @ 400 yds
-43.6 inch @ 500 yds

I would like to keep the gun zeroed at 200 yds. I see that the Nightforce 8-32 BR has .125 Moa Clicks and only 50 Moa elevation of internal clicks. So does this mean that I will not be able to "click out" to 500 yds? If so then how do i fix this problem? I am pretty new at this kind of stuff so please help.

Your scope has 50 MOA adjustment. At 500 yards one MOA is 5 inches. 43.6 divided by 5 is 8.72. You'll have plenty of adjustment.

If you put a 20 MOA base on your rifle you should be able to get close to 1,200 yds before you run out of adjustment, with your ballistics

50 MOA ÷ 2 = 25 MOA plus the 20 MOA base = 45 MOA of "UP" adjustment from your 100 or 200 yd zero

With out the 20 MOA base you will run out of adjustment at about 875 yds +/-.

JBM has several online calculators, all you need is bullet dia, weight, BC, and velocity and you can calculate several types of range cards.

If the link below takes you to a page that says "BAD REQUEST" try a different browser as JBM does not play well with "Chrome" and some others.

Just FYI, the 5.5-22X56 has 100 MOA internal adjustments. The 22X is more than enough for hunting.

Just giving you a heads up, check your drops before you assume that your rifle will produce the same speeds. either run it over a chrony or shoot your drops
