Need mount and ring advice.

I have a 30mm viper on a Winchester Mogel 70 300 wm and my ruger steel mounts just failed. Vortex doesn't show a Winchester long action mount. I am looking for suggestions on replacements. I do not want more dovetails that turn in.
I have used the ruger steels for 20 years with no issues but the new set of rings doesn't seem to be as tough. came loose at the back and the dovetail in the front now has play. Didn't when mounted??

Give EGW a call and maybe they can make a Picatinny rail to mount onto the receiver then you could mount rings to the rail.

Found a Weaver 20MOA rail and grand slam rings locally and will try them this am

Try some Burris Signature Zee rings on that mount.

I had a fellow LRHer recommend TPS rings and I could not be more impressed with them.

I mounted the weaver stuff I found local, sighted in at 300 and then shot a 2 3/8" group in the wind so I think there is hope. Thanks for the info. I was surprised at the lack of bases for the Model 70's though. Next non windy day I will confirm my 300 and then try 7 or 800 so I can try the LRBC software.
