Muzzle velocity jiving with your shooting app

I'm sure this has been talked about, and I tried doing a search.

So here we go. I have been told time and time again that my Shoot'en Chrony is not reliable for accurate muzzle velocity. So should I set up to shoot targets from let's say 300 to 600 yards and measure the drop from my 200 yard zero to make sure that the drop in inche's is correct on my Shooting App? And if it is off adjust my muzzle velocity on the App until it shows a correct drop in inches.

Yup sounds good to me!

In fact, not owning a chrono myself, that's the method I use all the time, period. Usually a 700-800 yd target seems to do the trick.
