I recently acquired a Remington 700 stainless synthetic rifle. It has the engraved receiver and a factory muzzle break. The rifle is chambered in 7 stw. I am wanting to upgrade the muzzle break and was hoping somebody else had been down this road and could tell me what size of thread Remington put on the muzzle. I would like to avoid removing old brake til I have new one in hand. Thanks

Almost certainly a 5/8x24TPI thread. That's pretty much the go to for american gun companies with rifles over 6mm caliber.
This.

And, I hate to be "that guy," but I would not fear pulling your existing brake off. Really hard to do much (if any) damage by pulling it, as you should be able to re-install it with no problems. If nothing else, I would NOT order anything new until I had personally verified the thread pitch and condition of threads.
