Fall is upon us and time to work on filling the freezer. One of the first for me this year started on September 15.
This year it took me a few hunts before putting it togather 4 hunts. Findly called in a lone Tom from the neighbors propterty yesterday morning.
He flew down in the neighbors winter wheat field at first light all I heard was wing beats, about 200 yards away. Gave him a short hen yelp and waited…he moved on a straight line right to me sitting 50 yards off the property line in the woods….gave one more hen yelp when he reached 100 yards and got my Mossberg 500 410 with Winchester #9 TSS load on my knee and turned on the Williams LRS sight. He slowly made it to the woods…he got behind a large tree I flicked off the safety he cleared the tree and I shot him at 30 yards. A nice turkey for this Thanksgiving Dinner.
