I'm comparing scopes and I would appreciate your input on 2 different models from Leupold.

I've been looking at getting a Mark 2 3-9x40mm. Matte, Tactical Hunter.

I also know there are the VX I, II & III.(assuming they're available in 3-9x40 as well)

In comparing quality, etc, where does the Mark 2 above compare with the VX's? Would it be equivalent to one of them, like the VX II?

Where should I be looking when doing a comparison? I really like my Nikon Monarchs. I really enjoy the light gathering of my 50mm's.

I did notice when looking at both, the Mark 2 is approx. $30.00 more on average -vs- the VX III, but the VX III comes 3.5-10 and not 3-9 like the Mark 2. This at least shows the Mark 2, even though has lesser power and adjustability, is still more money than the VX III.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
