I was browsing the Weatherby website tonight, and I see they are offering nine models in this caliber. Was considering a 257 in accumarck or light weight, but maybe this is a better caliber choice.

If you want the best for long range, the 6.5mm has more high bc bullets. It will also produce more velocity. So you will have less wind drift.
 
Much more suitable bullets for the 6.5 than 25s. I love my long barrel 264 Win mag with 130 Accubonds at 3350 fps. for deer across a big bean field. At 500 yards the deer is on the ground before the rifle gets to the height of it's slight recoil.
