Lyme sentance

In Alberta 99% of doctors and Govt. Don't recognize we have a Lyme tic problem.

I see last fall some states even warn campers to beware of the problem.

My daughter has been tested from CA to be positive. But the cure seems worse than the disease. It's slow deterioration.

I'm sure hunters on this forum are familiar with the issue. What kind of process's have you seen for cures?

If a person gets a reaction from a tick bite, red football shaped rash ect. head to the doctors as soon as possible. He will prescribe an effective antibiotic for the tick bite to help prevent lyme disease. A friend of mine waited and is in awful shape, he can hardly do anything. He is not 50 yet but all of his joints are like he has severe arthritis in them, he owned his own automotive garage and had to quite working and sell the garage. Don't burn or crush them when they are attached to you get as close to the skin with tweezers and pull them off try to get the head. Put alcohol and peroxide on it then some kind of good ointment that helps fight infection, and watch closely for infection. Good luck hunting and be safe.

I have/had real good GWP that developed a real bad case of anaplasmosis as a direct result of lymes. We hunt and play in tick central USA. (NW Wis)
She now has bad hips and cant hunt much anymore.. she just turned 5 years old and ruined. She has alway been up to date on vac and pest
Control. The lymes and all of its variations are nothing to mess with

This July I went scouting and even with the usual inspection afterwards I didn't find any. Well four days later I found it. It was a deer tick and I had a lot of redness and swelling around the bite. Decided I wasn't going to play around with it and went straight to the Dr. After the exam she decided that the way the bite looked was enough of a reason to put me on the antibiotic for Lyme disease. SC isn't known for Lyme disease but she said there's been more and more cases down here. IDK if I actually had it or not but she said the usual course of treatment is antibiotics.

10 - 4 gspman1 ticks tick me off big time, I'm in PA and I sprayed my hunting clothing with the insect repellent called PERMETHRIN best stuff I have ever seen. You cant put it on your skin just your clothing it works great! I watched ticks crawling up my legs this year after walking through some barberry bushes , they got as high as my knee and started to quiver then fell off hopefully dead. I've seen more tick paralysis here. Also very unnerving.

Kind of off topic, but I wondered all summer if the fires in the west would help with ticks, and CWD. The cure being devastating for many unfortunately.

Forgot to tell you where I bought the repellent, got it at the local Wal-Mart store. It costs about $10 with tax , believe me it works haven't had one attached to me since I started using it 3 years ago. Good luck hunting and be safe.

Thanks Buckmaster, I have a can or 2 (PERMETHRIN) on the shelf at the cabin.
Spray it on boots, pants, hats, gloves...

I am really paranoid about Ticks. So much I always take my clothes off prior to coming inside, followed by a shower.

A few months back I went to the doctors office to have some general blood work done and I had a Lyme titer added. Well don't you know it, I tested positive for Lymes. I am constantly checking for them, I never saw it or where it was on me.

Doctor prescribed: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.drugs.com/amp/doxycycline.html.

Secondary Test, Western Blot Test, confirmed the Lymes! So now, I'll always test positive, if bitten again, I'd have to take the Doxycycline again for a cycle, but this would be just to prevent any new symptoms from reoccurring.
