LRM primers ok to use on 257 WTHBY

Most of my magnum primer use is with CCI 250's. Reasonably good accuracy even with .22-.250 with mid 30 grain loads of powder & CCI250's I use whatever is available. Fed 215's are probably the hottest.

Magnum primers are what I use in my 257 weatherby. As to 3100fps with 120's that's on the low end as that is 25-06 territory. I've easily shot them closer to 3350-3400 without pressure.

I generally don't use mag primers, but generally use longer barrel lengths and up 75 grains. Mag primers there noting wrong with them, and I feel that mag primers are needed with shorter barrel lengths with slower powders. My rifles I use Fed 210 primers. Reduce your loads some and do a run on increased powder charge to see where high pressure signs show up. With shortage of primers, and powder that won't use to many rounds to find that out. Generally the run up of powder charge can be done in 1/2gr increases. I look over every fired case for high press signs.
