Looking for ideas on how to repair this stock

Do you have the chip,if so wood glue or epoxy back,temp hold with tape until glue dries. If not need same kind of wood,match grain,take broken area and cut with fine backsaw,jewlers saw or file the damaged area flat to accept a slight large repair peice,glue that as mentioned above.Let dry , then sand to shape and refinish
 
Decided to go with the angle cut. Now need I need to do the finish work. Thanks for all your input!
