I am looking for a longe range hunting/tactical scope. Magnification around the 24x. Wanting a ffp reticle and illuminated reticle. Only one I have discovered is the vortex viper pst. Looking to keep it under the $1300 range. Any input is greatly appreciated

IMO, the Vortex PST scopes aren't clear above 12X magnification. If you want something in the higher end of the magnification range I would look at the Sightron SIII models. I have an older Burris Blackdiamond 6-24X50 that is clear at the top end but requires really bright light, and as the light diminishes the power has to turned lower.
