I'm looking for some 200gr load suggestions for my Accumark 30-378. I will be doing some long range hunting for elk and bear.

This was in a recent post....go here and take a look...

Also--be careful with the big boy. I have one and had a little more time to experiment with it this summer. I can tell you that my sako has been borescoped and my "smith" said it had a smooth barrel. YET, I found the gun can foul out pretty quickly with the big long 200 grainers and dirty powder like retumbo. One day....letting the barrel cool every 2-3 shots....I saw my gun go from safe velocity and pressure to +100 fps and a sticky bolt in about 15 rounds.
Load development for these guns is not exactly like playing with a 308 or 30-06!

Kraky- do you think the H50bmg is any less dirty than the retumbo and/or the IMR7828? Those are the three I've narrowed it down to as far as powder goes.

I'm not sure that any are cleaner than the other. 7828 would certainly be the fastest burning. The thing is there is so much powder being burned with this beast that potential for fouling is certainly there.
This is a "gut feeling" but BMG may be a bit less "spikey".
It's funny how when you see some guys talk about the 300 rum one guy hates retumbo and the next guy loves it.

Here is another site to study with pretty good data on the 30-378
