Leupold Mark 5 HD

Have a new .300 PRC ordered. Was considering buying a new Leupold Mark 5 HD 5-25-56 35 mm M1C3 scope on it. Haven't seen many reviews on it. Anyone have experience with this scope? Have a Vortex Gen II 5-25–50 I was planning to put on new gun. Just trying to decide if the new Leupold is a worthwhile upgrade. Primary use will be hunting, but want to have the equipment to hit that steel plate at 1K yards.
