Nice looking dog….did you call him in n how far was he when you put him to sleep ?
Yes called in, this one was close at just under 100 yards with an 87 gr berger hunting VLD at 3500 FPS, shot placement is key to minimize pelt damage. I've switched to the Sierra 90 gr tipped game king at the same speed. Took one during deer season at 442 yards and one last year at 453. I haven't had the chance to stretch it past that yet. Been very happy with the rifle, used it for antelope, my wife shot it for mule deer this year and I took a bedded whitetail doe at 366 yards, she never got up. Here in south Saskatchewan it's mainly Ranch and grain land, lots of coyotes everywhere and the ranchers are happy to give land permission.
