I see guys post from time to time about large kegs of powder. 20-30 pounds. I've never seen powder sold in larger amounts then 8lbs. Where or how does a guy go about getting these larger kegs? When available of course. Or is everyone just dumping 8 pounders together. I think it would be great to get one big keg for consistency.

The only time I have ever heard of the large cans of powder is the surplus powders that are not in the data manuals. I have never been interested in these propellants for two reasons, 1st reason is the fact that you don't know exactly what you are buying and 2nd is there is no verifiable data to load it with. Some of the old school reloaders have there own data and get along fine with it, but I am just old, not old school, so they can use it.

Roger that. I'll just stick with 8 pounders if I ever find them again. It's getting so dam old not being able to get components and when you do find them lots of places want to gouge the hell out of ya. I'm seeing 1 pound powders going for 35-40 a pound, that's rediculous. My daughter shot competition with me her first time last summer, I've been trying to get varget for a year now.I've found a pound here and there but I really need an 8 pounder to keep her loads consistent. I'm fearful we won't be competing this year. That's really sad. It's hard to keep a 13 year old young lady interested in the shooting sport. I finally found something she loves to do with me and can't load her ammo supply let alone mine. I understand there is more demand but around here we went from plentiful to zero for over a year, not just a couple kinds of powder every kind of rifle powder gone. There is more to this then increased demand.

I would consider spending a few more hours on the WWW. My friends and I have gotten on waiting lists for Bullets, primers,Powder and other reloading components in the last 3 months and have gotten thousands of primers thousands of bullets and 30lbs of powder. It is so frustrating trying to get things..... But extra time browsing if you can get away with it pays off.. If you don't have time get a friend to do it. Look every day at websites and call if you can.. You should find the things you need just be persistent.
If you have her interested don't give up!!you might not get her to turn her head towards you again.... You can find it....

Grip n pull, a sponsor on lrh helped me out with the varget, he's a real stand up guy. If you haven't got his bullet pullers you really should, super fast, doesn't hurt the bullets, cheap. They work so dam good. I was just visiting with him last light and he kindly helped me out on the powder. Great guy. God willing components come back soon and not double the price.

If you can only find one pound containers and are worried about the consistency, I would put them in a big container and blend them together, then put them back in there original containers.

I know at the Scheels in Grand Forks, ND there were alot of 1lb containers of Varget on the shelves when I was in there last week. Jesse.
