I was wondering if people who have the 457 have a hell of a time changing out there barrels.i have to put the barrel in a vice and use a dead blow hammer and beat the action off that is after removing the set screws. The problem that happened while doing this the the bolt release retaining pin fell out then the lost what ever spring and any other parts that was behind the release tab. Just trying to find a better way to change the barrel with out possible damages

I have never had any issues switching with either of my 2 457s. I have heard of it being tough on other people and if i remember correctly some people recommended loosening the bolt for the front of the mag well.

I had the mag well off so I am not sure. Wondering if I am going to have a wood rod to drive out the barrel out of the action

Are both of the barrel retaining screws completely removed? Maybe try a penetrating spray? Have you double checked the manual just to be sure you have followed all the instructions?

Not sure what else to recommend im sorry.

Both screws are removed and I used and I had used synthetic gun oil when I swapped the barrel last time
