Is Sightron a good brand?

Ten years go, I bought a 36x Sightron for my competition 6ppc. It was terrible and I sold it. But 3 years ago,my son bought a 3-9 for his Rem 760 and it appears to be very bright. He has taken 2 deer with it. I understand their quality has improved considerably.

thats a 'loaded" question. yes, sightron, like most optic's mfg., have good glass AND cheap glass. go with the best you can afford.

I have several sightron scopes. Most are the SII 6x to 24x or SII Big Sky fixed 12x.

The 6x24 are used for silhouette and are extremely repeatable In terms of adjusting windage and elevations knobs. Several are on spring powered air rifles which are notorious for tearing up scopes due to forward and backward recoil and the sightsron a have all held up for the past several years.

The 12x big sky appears as bright and clear as my Leopoldo fixed 12x.
