Iron sight compatibility - Rem 700

I have inherited a Remington Sportsman 78 in 30-06. My research indicates that this is nothing more than a poor mans Remington 700 from the 80's. At one time, it had iron sights, but unfortunately they have been removed.

My question is this: Is the screw spacing/thread for front and rear iron sights similar between the ADL and BDL 700's? I like the BDL sights but have been told the Sportsman 78 was ADL.
