I have a Winchester 770. These were manufactured for a few years in late 60's early 70's. Scope has been mounted and I seem to have run out of room to bring the scope back to see reticle on it when shoulder. This is a hunting rifle, has a Vortex Diamondback HP 4-14, I currently have Talley rings. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I may be able to bring the location of the scope further back toward the butt of the rifle?

can you post a picture of how it appears in the rings? I am guessing this is a long action?
I realize I can move it back roughly 1/4" but I am looking to move it more than that hopefully.

What kind of rail would you recommend I normally don't use rails, but I am not opposed either. The shooter just was uncomfortable with the location of the scope.
