IMR 4451 ?

Has anyone loaded 338 win with 225/230 gr with 4451 and 30-06 with 180gr?

I haven't but it sounds like a good idea.
Everything I have used the 4350s in, I can find a load with 4451.

I use it in my .338 Win Mag with Barnes 225gr TTSXs. I ran out of room in the case with H4831SC before I got to velocity I wanted, Barnes is long bullet. Got to 2800fps with the 4451 with good accuracy.

What was your final load with IMR 4451.
I have used IMR 4350 for 20 years in my 338 Win with no regret. For no reason I just wanted to give 4451 a try.

I've used it to replace H4350 in several calibers. Worked well and it's easier to find.

72.5 grains of IMR 4451, 2825 fps avg out of my 24" barrel. I've replaced 2 H4350 loads in other rifles with 4451 because because of the scarcity of H4350 with good results.

I shot the 178 gr ELDX with the 4451 in a 30-06. When accuracy started it was at the upper end and pressure signs had me uneasy about continuing.

Someone told me yesterday he used the exact same load data as H4350 for one of his guns...???

From what i've been told 4166 is basically generic varget and 4451 is basically generic H4350. Idk that i'd do an exact load depending on the rifle, i'd always work up but you can certainly use H4350 load data as a guide line. Burn rates seem to be almost identical or extremely similar.
