I need some info

I am not finding what I am looking for. I have a few questions that I cant seem to answer. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I am working with a savage 111 300wm that I will be building my new hunting rifle out of.

My 1st question is; would it be worth the changing from the 300wm to 300wby?

My 2nd question is; has anyone used the manners EH-1? Is it worth the money as compared to others in the price range? I really like the idea of it but I don't want to make a $650 mistake.

My 3rd question is; I've read that truing/blue printing a savage action isn't really necessary. I'm trying to figure out what kind of things I should do to the action to "accurize" it?

If I were you this is what I would do. Stay with the 300 WM. Cheaper to use and more components around and will bust elk at 1000 yards with the right loading.

Not familiar with Manner Stocks. I just put together a carry semi long range rifle and used a McMillan Adj. HTG and like it quite a bit. Choosing a stock really comes down to how the rifle will be used.

As far as the receiver and barrel work find a good smith and have a conversation. If you have one close by so you can walk in that's the way to go.

If you are on the coast there was a shop in Paso Robles named Bridges that did fine work and I used him when living in Arroyo Grande. It's been a long time so don't know if it even exist anymore. There was also a fella in Grover City (Beach) that did OK work....good luck.

I built my hunting/target rifle out of savage 110 action. .308 Winchester

1-Stay with the 300 win mag
2-never used it. I have a B&C Medalist
3-You shouldn't have to do anything to accurize the action. Mine is a sub MOA gun out to at least 560 yards. That's as far as the range goes.

If it has the accutrigger see if you can tune it to your preferred trigger pull (2.5 # for me) and measure its consistency. If its not very consistent look at upgrading the trigger. Buy you a good barrel, don't gamble with the cheaper ones. Bed the action. You might look at adding a larger tactical style bolt lever to increase leverage.
