Hydrostatic shock?

If you fish for flatheads again with bream or yellow perch, make a fillet cut from mid to rear of the dorsal about an 3/4 to 1" deep on each side and leave it where the cut on the back end flaps a little bit. Kind of a guides secret here. It works
I will try that.

What the hell is a ceviche? Must have been another Italian, or maybe Turp. Never tried crystal hot sauce in my life!

Only fish I eat is the kind that neither smells or tastes like fish. Fresh!
Tuna, Amberjack, some grouper, crappie etc.

Then I'm hungry for some MR beef about an hour later…never fails.
Nope, Weren't me! I'm more of a rice, meat, three finger biscuit, and beans guy. Stews or Perlow may contain near about anything. I'm fine with that. I ate what granny cooked! Dishes or casseroles with fancy names kinda spook me a bit! Just not what I grew up eating. My wife just says I'm Simple. Says it kinda derogatory like too. Can y'all believe that?

Not only can I believe it, it sounds familiar.
The target of her observation/comments is consistent, however. She can't claim anything of the sort, personally. At all. This today, that tomorrow and nothing of any resemblance the next.
I'd imagine some of my comments sound a tad derogatory to her, perhaps?

I knew it was Phil. I just remembered both of you posting. Probably a good thing I don't live in the south. I'd be a fat man. My mouth waters when you and Phil talk about food 😉

Tell me about your handle. What is Turpintine about 😁
Turpentine is the name of the small neighborhood that I live in. It was mostly Longleaf pine and quail woods at one time. It got its name from the catch cans where people would scar the side of the Longleaf pine and tack a catch can underneath to catch resin that would be processed to make turpentine. I found a catch can the other day. But most are rusted and gone.

Wow. Very interesting. Thanks for ending my curiosity !

If you don't like fried fat back, bacon, sausage, butts meat, or a ham hock for seasoning and some Cajun seasoning thrown in, you would likely not like my cooking. If you do, you'd feel right at home. Going in a slightly different direction. NOne of my favorites is oyster clusters I fetch myself, cooked on a piece of tin or a metal trashcan lid with charcoal underneath, and a saltwater soaked croaker sack covering the oysters while they steam. It simply doesn't get any better than oysters that are naturally salty.

It all sounds great to me. I love oysters any way cooked or raw. Always have since a kid. I carry smoked oysters in can in my pack when hunting. Most buddies when hunting turn up their nose at them. Fine with me !

I didn't see it as all that complicated! I believe that the size of the animal is directly related to the bullet's effect!

Answer exaggerated for visual clarity!

Drop a marble into a swimming pool…..minimal effect.

Drop the same marble into a cup of hot coffee that you're holding above your lap……the immediate results are notable! memtb
Is this a ridiculous hypothetical consideration? Yes!

Our first example, a 150 lb whitetail doe shot with a .30 cal 150 grain bullet with muzzle velocity of 2800 fps. hit a 50 yards could result in a dramatic "bang flop"

Example 2, 1500 lb Cape buffalo. Same distance. But instead we multiply all our numbers by 10x (1500 lbs vs 150 lbs =10x)

.300 cal bullet weighing 1500 grains with a muzzle velocity of 28,000 fps would possibly also result in a buff's dramatic "bang flop"

Stupid, I know, but might begin to explain the difference of reaction to impact.
