I am using a full length Redding S die with bushings without the sizing button/expander ball. From a fired case a bullet will not go down into the case. A donut has developed. What do you guys do to avoid a donut? This donut is apparent only after the case has been in the die 1 to 2 times. Will using the sizing button/expander improve this and smooth it out? What do you suggest?
Thanks
Bob

P.S. This is using Nosler 300rum cases for the 338edge.

What bullet and seating? You may not have a true donut, if you are seating a bullet out, of the neck shoulder junction. Hold case and bullet at seated relationship. The boattail could be, above this junction. This will not affect anything, unless you try to seat below, or use a different bullet design. If you just seat lower this would not happen. Kind of hard to explain?

Donuts are caused by neck stretching and moving up after firing, then sizing several times. Best way to remove the donut is to inside neck ream. You can expand them to the outside, but next firing, they will move inside again.
