In Oregon we are soon to lose our firearms rights... in two weeks or so a court ruling to approve voter mandated controls is coming. One will be required to obtain a "permit to buy" , etc., as listed below, including two background checks in the process before completing a new firearm purchase.

Key Aspects of the Permit to Purchase Law:
  • Permit Requirements: To obtain a permit, individuals must submit an application to local law enforcement, complete an approved safety training course, submit fingerprints, and pass a criminal background check.
  • Validity: Once issued, the permit is valid for 5 years.
  • Process: Permit holders must still pass a background check at the point of sale.
  • Costs: The fee for the permit is expected to be around $65, though proposals have suggested raising it and increasing the application processing time to 60 days.
  • Exceptions: Law enforcement and armed forces are generally exempt.

The EXACT legislation is proposed in Virginia by the same hivemind drones!
They're passing stuff that they know is unconstitutional in the hopes of making gun groups exhaust their resources fighting it in court IMHO.
