It is such a nice day and its 60 degrees here in So. Central Pa. so, time to go shoot, right? Just for fun, no serious testing.
Figured maybe just see if Hybrid 100 might work with the 6.5 creed and the 147 ELDM at 500 meters plus give a little more velocity maybe.
With no special case prepping and some very old Wolf primers I figured to just load em up and see what they do. Turns out that the Hybrid 100 gave me 100 FPS more velocity (2700) vs 2600 FPS, with H 4350 and a 2.5" group. One more respectable powder to use in the absence of H 4350....fills the case too. I never considered Hyb. 100 as it doesn't perform to well for me in other cartridges...........another good day living the dream!

One of the best unknown, little used, Hodgdon medium powder there is!

When temperature insensitive powders, weren't available, we knew how to adjust for them. There's a whole different World out there.

Great in 300WSM with 165-180 gr.
Have H-100V, H-4350, H-4831 to load in:
.243
.260
6.5X284
.270WSM
.325WSM
Looking at the load data depending on the bullet used these three powders are almost the same. Some are a little faster than the other in different calibers/bullets. We had a chance in the beginning of 2021 to get some H100V so couldn't pass it up. Now it makes me feel like it was a good decision to get it. Already have loads worked up on H-4350 so now will have to try H100V.
Glad this Post came out.

Has anyone compared H-100V against Win StaBall 6.5? According to Hogdon's reload data StaBall 6.5 gets about 80fps more than H-100V with powder charge being only .5gr more. That was looking at 6.5x55 Swede.
